Net Neutrality & Fair Access

There's a big controversy surround the internet these days, and it threatens to change the way we know the web forever.

Net Neutrality is a concept, a concept that says that any internet service provider should not be allowed to filter the traffic on it's network. This would ensure that the internet remains the place for free and open discussion and uninhibited innovation.

Picture an web where you choose your access like you'd choose a cable or satellite package - "Internet Lite - includes google, myspace, and AOL!" "Internet Media Lover - Includes YouTube!" etc etc... Should service providers reject net neutrality, this could be the future of the internet. Controlled, constrained, but great for big business.

Metacast fully supports net neutrality. Metacast supports the idea that anyone can be a media producer, anyone can have their opinion heard, and for this to succeed, the internet must remain a forum for open communication.

Many countries have been addressing net neutrality, and whether it should be written into law. We urge Metacast members to educate and lobby their respective representatives about net neutrality, it's the only way they'll listen.
